Pollen Place Workspaces and Event Space - Brand Identity & Website.
Pollen Place is a unique workspace and event space based in central Bristol. It is home to freelancers, remote workers, small companies and the Polleni design agency (which was founded there). Pollen Place commissioned Polleni to design their brand identity, website, print material and interior graphics.
We took the idea of drift, connection and 'fertilization' associated with pollen and used it as the central concept for this coworking brand. We liked how ideas, information and work 'drift' between members of coworking spaces; as well as the transient nature of people ‘drifting’ in and out. This concept was further strengthened after our research - which found many members in the spaces collaborating and 'cross-pollinating' their ideas, work, skills and expertise.
A classic yet chunky typeface, packed with character, was re-worked to form the logotype; while warmth and playfulness were brought in through a retro-inspired colour palette. Copper was alluded to in the logo through an interplay of peach and dusty pink tones, and used as a reference to pollen. This followed through in the interiors of the studios - which had copper vinyl wall murals, copper painted loos, copper piping and feature lighting in the kitchen as well as a copper-clad bar.
We commissioned award-winning Bristol illustrator, Naomi Wilkinson, to create a collection of modular illustrations for the website; while we designed a series of large prints with elements from the Pollen Place brand asset pack to hang in the studios themselves.
